Company Profile
Possibles Média is a Media production company started in 2007 by Serge Noël, a producer and director who has been working in cinema and television for over 20 years. It is with a significant background in parallel fields such as music production, websites, and television production that he launched his company.
Over the past few years, Serge Noël has produced numerous fiction films, as well as documentaries and series. His early productions won awards for Best Canadian Film (Nuages sur la Ville) and Special Jury Prize (Rechercher Victor Pellerin) at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma in Montreal. Subsequently, he received the César for Best Film (Fatima) and the Venice Days Prize at the Mostra (Early Winter). More recently a Special Mention and the FIPRESCI Prize in the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival was awarded to It Must Be Heaven. Possibles Média aims to produce works with national and international relevance, reflecting the complex reality of our contemporary societies.
In 2012, Possibles Média embarked on the financing of Early Winter by Mexican-Australian director Michael Rowe, winner of the Cannes Camera d'Or in 2010 for Ano Bisiesto. Initially selected for Cinemart Rotterdam in 2012, Early Winter was shot in 2014 and represented by Pyramide for international sales (and distribution in France). Mongrel Media and Filmoption International handled Canadian distribution. This film starred Suzanne Clément and Paul Doucet.
The same year saw the production of Fatima by accomplished director Philippe Faucon, the result of many years of collaboration with Istiqlal Film. This film, presented at the Directors' Fortnight in 2015, won the César for Best Film in 2016.
In 2018, Possibles Média completed production on Emma Peeters by Nicole Palo, starring Monia Chokri, in collaboration with Take Five [BE]. It Must Be Heaven by Elia Suleiman, co-produced with Rectangle Production [FR], distributed by Maison 4:3 in Canada, and represented by Wild Bunch internationally, was completed and launched in 2019 in the official competition at Cannes.
In 2021, Possibles Média co-produced with SRAB Films [FR] Trois fois rien, directed by Nadège Loiseau and starring Antoine Bertrand, Philippe Rebbot, and Côme Levin. The film will be distributed by MK2 | Mile End in Canada and by Le Pacte in France.
This year, the company is co-producing "Les Immortelles" by Caroline Deruas, with La Capitaine [FR]. The filming will take place this autumn in France. La Capitaine was also our partner for "La Femme Caché," accessing the French international tax credit. We are also producing the VR experience Outer Times.
The project L'outre temps, an immersive digital cinema project (unitary experience) currently being produced by Possibles Média, is also expected to make waves in the coming year. This project, with its rich and highly potential universe, leads to related productions of various types (games, series, cinema) that will be seen in the coming years.
Currently in financing within the company is "Au rythme du Coeur" by Rémi Fréchette. Several projects are in development, including those of Maxime Genois (Le clown) and Rémi Fréchette (A Night of Sweats). Our monitoring of technological advances is leading to our first experiences of AI-assisted audio-visual production with Quebecois field expert Jeremy Peter Allen, professor at Laval University.

Other upcoming projects are in development. This includes "La Campagne" scripted by Serge Noël, telling the story of a young eco-anxious teenager. Additionally, the comedy "Ma mère me cherche," co-developed with Stéphane Moraille and scripted by Bachir Bensaddek, continues the collaboration with this director from our production La Femme cachée.
In addition to feature films, the company is developing, as mentioned earlier, a component of immersive digital cinema currently in production. Adding to the various forms of the "L'Outre temps" franchise mentioned above, the dramatic series "Prêts pour le pire" (aka "Get Set") is also being added to the company's portfolio.
Our technological monitoring also leads us to initial experiences of AI-assisted production with expert Jeremy Peter Allen, professor at Laval University. A short film project is under consideration.
Possibles Média is seeking reciprocal co-production agreements and series, XR, and fiction projects to produce or co-produce.
