“Get set!” (« Prêts pour le pire ») follows a group of 30 something ‘preppers’ and their leader André, a resourceful and charming carpenter, who get ready for the next big catastrophe. As they buy land and start to install their remote woodland community, André learns he has cancer. Who should he hand his crown to ? How does he maintain the future of his family should he prove incapable of finishing the construction of the community in time ? Or worse maybe should catastrophe be avoided, as doubt starts to raise in him about the certainty of a new big catastrophe, and the result in dwindling community interest, and market value, he can foresee.

This is a start of deep questions for André — and within a surprised community who see their leader falter — as curious questions arise about their leader manhood, actual caring for the community, and even vision. Ultimately the series is as much about deep rooted traits in our human nature, such as herd instinct, the alpha male, and the desire to be taken care of that lies behind the need for leadership, as it is about unselfishness, long term thinking, or the vanity behind making plans when you are a mere mortal.
